Like Judaism in ancient Israel the modern church is controlled mostly by the Pharisees and Sadducees and if Jesus made a appearance today he wouldn’t be accepted. They would put their arm around him walking him to the church office door saying “you’re just not what we’re looking for in a Lord and Savior at this time. why don’t you go brush up on your doctrine, absorb modern culture, learn the modern lingo and come back in a year or two and try again”. Too much of the church has change who Jesus is and what he believes to fit their agendas that they would not recognized our precious Lord and while he wouldn’t face death this time around he would be killed socially and politically. Exorcism of demons, virgin birth, son of God and God, raising the dead???? Many in the church don’t believe in such things. Punishing those who offend against children with death?? (rather then see it as the child’s fault or someone other than the offender) Believing in original sin??? Teaching about an afterlife??? Treating the Jews as special??? Believing Israel has claim to the land?? Saying the satan exists?? Not exulting the state as ultimate authority??? (and thus deserving unquestioned obedience) Rendering to Caesar ONLY what is Caesar's??? (and not more especially from the rich) These would NOT be positions that would endear him to the modern church. These are positions that would get him shown the door and quickly!!

 

Jesus said “when the the son of God returns to the earth will him find faith??” Some yes just as some first century Jews accepted him but by and large he will find a faithless church. Like ancient Israel many “church leaders” know what the scriptures say all to well (even satan knows them) but couldn’t give an accurate meaning to them to save their pathetic souls. Interpretations and traditions were the problem then and they are the problem now. Satan distorted the meaning of the torah and the prophets so that the Jews then did not know the time of their visitation i.e. they couldn’t discern the times they were in and didn’t know what true Judaism was. Satan for sometime now has distorted the meaning of both the old and new testaments so that the church today can’t discern the times they are in and don’t know what true Christianity is.

 

Pretty sad to know that the Lord wouldn’t be welcome in a church supposedly dedicated to him but satan would be given a front row seat or perhaps even a guest preacher spot. Apparently goat legs under vestments is the latest in pulpit fashion. Pitchfork is optional. Is it any wonder than that the Anti-Christ will so easily take power when most of the players on the opposition team are rooting for him. He will be what they and all in the world, including the Jews, are looking for in a Lord or Messiah. Hollywood couldn’t have scripted it better. (and will fall all over themselves to tell his story) The modern generation doesn’t know Christ and the modern church is ill equipped to show him to them. Modern church thy name is Laodicea! While Thyatira and Sardis are not far behind thee thou leadest the way oh Laodicea. The only question left, one we can’t answer this side of heaven, is how many are not so far gone that they can be saved. How big, numbers wise, will the revival be???

Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
